Summer is almost over.
Yikes! It's the dog days of summer and MAN is it hot here on the east coast. It's been a wild season for the MacHippy. The MacHippy family flew out to Boise, Idaho to visit with MacHippy mom-in-law number one joe! Then it was a quick trip to Williamsburg to celebrate the wife's birthday and now it's almost time for the kids to go back to school...WOOHOO! I mean awwww, summer's almost over.
Northeast High School Reunion
I attended a sorta high school reunion on Friday, June 13. Read about it at this link.
WWDC is now over!
Anyone else as bored about it as I am? Read the blog here to get my opinion.
In better news I'm digging on some Rapid Weaver and iWeb templates generously given to me by Jumsoft. If you're looking for some new ideas on what to do with those two programs, give them a look. I'll be doing a full review of them over at my regular gig at MyMac.com
New to MacHippy! WebPolls!
Yeah, real cutting edge stuff these webpolls are. I'm skipping right past Web 2.0 and 3.o to go directly to (cue John Williams like awe inspiring movie soundtrack theme) Web 4.0!
I can already tell that you're incredibly impressed and quite frankly I can't say I blame you. The fact that ANYONE can use third-party services like this that requires no more thought than deciding not to wear plaid pants with a striped shirt (apologies to all the retired golfers living in Florida) shouldn't deter you from going through the rest of this site and seeing what other goodies I've infected...um...infested...no, still not quite right...LIBERATED this little piece of the web with.
SandVox is a really easy way to make websites.
I'm really enjoying the ease of use of Karelia's SandVox application. It certainly isn't perfect and the themes, though well put together, are a little too strict and don't allow enough customization right from the program. Unless that is you know how to dig(g) deeper into adding custom html and css tags. I must admit that I don't know enough about it so I am about to get a book to help me and once I bungle my way around it a bit, I'll return and see how well I can change things up.
Welcome my friends to the show that hasn't really started.
Ah how time flies like a garbage truck. Don't ask, it's just a stupid statement to what I thought was clever way to introduce this site. If I ever bother to keep it up to date (depending on how I feel), I'll probably change this to something ever so witty and urbane, it will make you wonder how you ever got through the day without going to this site and checking for new words of wisdom.
or not
I'm entitled to use this name for the site for reasons beyond measure, except I CAN measure them. Here goes:
1. I bought the domain name. I could stop here but I won't
2. I'm a Mac user from WAAAAAY back to 1987.
3. Having been born in 1960, I was actually capable being a hippy.
So there you have it. Three measured clear-cut reasons for me to use this site name. Don't like it? I don't care. Send me an email that I will post and respond to in the blogs.
